Coláiste Mhuire Johnstown receive visit from The HEINEKEN CUP
Friday the 13th was Lucky For Some when the students and staff received a visit from the famous European Rugby Cup (ERC). Better know as The Heineken Cup, it was brought to the school by local IRFU representative and coach Paddy Curran. The staff & students were equally excited to see the Cup, which Paddy kindly brought to the majority of classrooms for their viewing & holding pleasure. An assembly was then held shortly before lunch for our Junior classes where the Cup received a rapturous welcome.
Management, staff and students at Coláiste Mhuire Johnstown would like to take this opportunity to thank Paddy Curran and his colleagues at the IRFU for kindly including our school on their circuit. In fact, the draw for the quarter finals took place over the weekEnd and has paired Munster at home against fellow Irish province Ulster, with Leinster at home to Cardiff Blues. We would also like to wish Munster, Ulster and Leinster (the current holders) the very best of luck in this year’s competition.
