Code of Behaviour Review 2018

The Board of Management, In-School Management Team, Staff, Students’ Council and Parents’ Association of Coláiste Mhuire Johnstown are all currently involved in reviewing & updating the Code of Behaviour.  

We are extending this consultation to our whole school community and are interested in hearing your feedback by the end of this month (Wednesday, 28th February 2018).

SENIOR CAMOGIE Leinster Final versus Naomh Cormac, Kilcormac (Offaly) will take place on Saturday, 20th January 2018.  Venue is the All-Weather Pitch at Heywood College (Laois) with a 2pm Throw-In.

SENIOR HURLERS Leinster Semi-Final versus Coláiste Choilm Tullamore (Offaly) with takes place on Saturday, 3rd February 2018.  Venue is Park Raheniska GAA Pitch (Laois) with a 12pm Throw-In.

The whole school community would like to wish both panels and team management the best of luck in their respective games and thank them for all the hard work they have put in to date.  All support on the days would be most welcome and greatly appreciated.

 

MOCK EXAMS for Junior & Leaving Cert students will commence on Monday, 29th January until Friday, 9th February.  Copies of Timetables for same are post on All Social Area Notice Boards & are available on the Student Shared Server under the Mock Exams 2018 folder.

School Will Re-Open This Morning (Tuesday)

Coláiste Mhuire Johnstown will re-open this morning, Tuesday 12th December, as our Bus Transport providers have decided they will run.

Management wish our school community a safe journey in.

School Closed due to Weather (Monday)

Monday, December 11th, 2017

Coláiste Mhuire Johnstown will be closed today, Monday 11th December, due to extreme weather conditions. 

Management made the decision in conjunction with our school bus transport providers shortly before 7.30am this morning.

An official school text message was sent to all parents/guardians at approximately 7.30am.  The official school Twitter account subsequently posted a message confirming the school closure.

Local radio stations, KCLR & Tipp FM, and other media outlets, such as Kilkenny People & Tipp Star, were also contacted at this time to include Coláiste Mhuire Johnstown on their announcements & listing on their website regarding same.

We hope you received notification in good time & remain safe today.  Keep up to date with any subsequent announcements through any & all of the above.

The management, staff & students of Coláiste Mhuire Johnstown can be rightly proud that their hard work & preparation for the Christmas Fair paid off yesterday (Sunday, 26th November 2017).  

Thank You to All the traders & crafts people who took out stalls, offered advice & provided demonstrations.  A full list of contact details is available from the School Office upon request and will be posted below.

Finally, an even bigger Thank You to our school community & surrounding areas who came in large numbers to support our school and their local traders.  There really was something for everybody and, as the photos and footage shows, a great day was had by all!

The management, staff and students of Coláiste Mhuire Johnstown would like to invite members of our school & wider community to attend our upcoming Christmas Fair this Sunday, 26th November 2017 from 12-4pm

This is an opportunity to support many local businesses and craft industries, as well as helping to raise funds for our school.  It also promises to be an exciting & eventful family day as we enter the Christmas season.

The Timetable of Events we have planned is as follows:

Please come early to avoid disappointment!  Limited Tickets & spaces for workshops still available at the door on a first come, first serve basis.  Hope to see you & yours there.

The management, staff and students of Coláiste Mhuire Johnstown would like to invite members of our school & wider community to attend our upcoming Christmas Fair. 

This is an opportunity to support many local businesses and craft industries, as well as helping to raise funds for our school.

This is the second such Fair in recent years, with the last taking place in 2014 a resounding success.  We hope to build on that experience for this year’s event, which will take place on a Sunday afternoon and will be more family friendly.
