Coláiste Mhuire Hosts Winning Streak Dream Maker
Friday, October 1st, 2010
On Saturday September 25th Coláiste Mhuire hosted the National Lottery’s Winning Streak programme Dream Maker segment, where a lucky contestant got to Spin The Wheel!

Also in attendance were Councillor Mary Hilda Cavanagh, Board of Management; Mr Rodger Curran, C.E.O. and representatives of the Parents Association. CM Sports were represented by committee members Brendan O’Gorman, Coláiste Mhuire Principal John Cahill and Kevin Murphy.
While the cameras rolled, the school looked resplendent in the autumn sunshine, as young people from the surrounding areas enjoyed a range of activities including hockey, tennis, hurling and basketball.
Meanwhile inside the school gym, preparations were underway for the recording of the interviews and the all–important spin. Under the watchful eye of the RTE crew, the charming Geri Maye put everyone at their ease as she spoke to Kevin Murphy of CM Sports about the project and the benefits to the local community. While admitting to having a limited experience of hurling, she nevertheless recognised the achievements of past pupil JJ Delaney, to whom she handed a KitKat bar with the comment that Kilkenny were only “taking a break” from winning all-Irelands this year!
“The focus of the visit is to highlight the benefit which lottery funding has brought, and the way in which Coláiste Mhuire works within the local community to provide facilities which we can all be proud of and which can be used by all,” commented Mr John Cahill. Seeing the footage on the programme that evening, everyone associated with the project can share in that sense of pride.
